Communications (M. Oliver)
- M. Oliver stated the December Board Meeting Minutes were posted on the website as well as on Facebook.
- M. Oliver posted a Reverse Raffle Flyer for public info on website and Facebook.
- There were no nominations for January “Spirit Wins Award” and so there will be none listed for the month on Facebook and the website.
- M. Oliver also publicly recognized on social media Terry Ware who recently donated bowling equipment to East CLC.
Reverse Raffle (John Stanley/S. Kerechanin)
- Info packet from last year’s event was distributed to board members for orientation and review by M. Bond. Event is scheduled for March 7th at Guy’s Party Center.
- L. Bond distributed additional ticket packets for those in attendance to begin selling.
- L. Bond will design a 2024 Reverse Raffle flyer for distribution.
- Lengthy discussion followed on items for improvement in this year’s event. It was suggested by Sharon that we employ willing faculty to help that evening as well. Also, consider making nametags available on tables as well as board members wearing them. It would be helpful to include sign-up sheet on tables for attendees’ emails/contact info.
- Sharon will call those who helped last year with specific jobs.
- On 1/12/24, M. Bond will share at East CLC full faculty meeting the Reverse Raffle date and say to see Top Mac or Coach Hayes for tickets. (L. Bond and J. Stanley will meet ahead of time with both to distribute tickets and explain this year’s procedure)
- D. Hoff thoughtfully reminded us that board meetings should not be the focus time for detailed planning sessions on our upcoming events and rightfully so. Thus, a Reverse Raffle planning meeting has been scheduled for committee members and any interested helpers on Wednesday, January 24 1:00 pm at the Bonds. M. Bond will send out an agenda for this meeting ahead of time. Please let her know if you plan to attend.
Scholarship (M. Bond)
- M. Bond will present information for 2024 scholarship nominations to faculty at their full faculty meeting on 1/12 at 8:00 am. She will also mention the Reverse Raffle date and protocal for ticket purchases.
- M. Bond notified past 2023 scholarship recipients of available renewal awards for January. Only one to date (Justin Cox/Wayne State) has responded and a $1,000 check from our treasury has been issued for January semester.
- M. Bond passed around a note of gratitude from Charles Conti who founded the Shipp Sisters Scholarship Fund. Both sisters were 1946 & 1947 graduates from East.
60+ Reunion (J. Stanley/M. Bond)
- J. Stanley will lock in planning dates for the Community Room at the Tallmadge Library. The library will not allow him to do so before January 20th.
- Proposed planning dates (all on Wednesdays at 1:00 pm.) are as follows: 3/13, 4/10, 5/8 and 6/5.
- The event is scheduled for Thursday, 6/13/24 at Guy’s Party Center.

- D. Hoff reported that all eight nominees have accepted and will be present at the inductions scheduled for April 25, 2024, at the Venue.

- D. Hoff will send out letters next week to inductees for their preferred names on plaques.
- D. Hoff will confirm videos with APS as well as Carmen Photography for the event.
Memorabilia (M. Oliver, L. Bond)
